IN TOWN FOR SOME GOOD OLE SOUTH CAROLINA FOOTBALL 📝 Karsten Miller (MFVAllSportsNetwork) It is not normal sight to see MFV All Sports Network covering athletics outside of the DMV, but a family get-together brought us to the wonderful state of South Carolina. It was an opportunity to expand our reach on the excellent sports within the United States. On this day, a local varsity football jamboree was the main attraction. Three of the 6 teams reigned out the city of Rock Hill (all who were 2025-26 South Carolina State champions). The purpose of this Football USA event was to highlight the top talent amongst the Carolinas and better evaluate who will be utilized in the upcoming season.

 THE WAIT
The event was to kickoff at 5:30pm. Due to a lightning warning, the field had to be cleared of all players and fans until alerted otherwise when safe for re-entry. That turned into an hour of meeting different media groups, coaches, referees, and security officers. In true fashion of southern hospitality, people extended kindness and created just a welcoming environment. What a wonderful way to spend time before kickoff.

 THE LOGISTICS
The games ran as like this: There were 3 matchups, where each were divided in to two 10 minute half’s. Matchups: Rock Hill Bearcats vs. Monroe Redhawks, Northwestern Trojans vs. Ridgeview Blazers, South Pointe Stallions vs. Palisades Pumas.

GAME 1 - ROCK HILL BEARCATS VS MONROE REDHAWKS
The matchup started off pretty tight, both defensives leading their opponent to punts. Redhawks punched the ball in first. However, the Bearcats answered back and took the lead 7-6, due to blocking a field goal earlier attempt by Monroe. Second half, Rock Hill, pulled away adding two more touchdowns and walking away victorious, winning 21-6.

GAME 2 - NORTHWESTERN TROJANS VS RIDGEVIEW BLAZERS I was told this was the game to see. Relatives of mine, having attended Northwestern, only made me more interested in catch a glimpse of the back-to-back state champ Trojans. The game was pretty much trojan dominance. Northwestern plays with intensity on defense and offense, establishing early control. It was just a lot for the Blazers to handle, however the Ridgeview team played hard. Definitely a good learning experience for them. The final score was 29-0, Trojans.

GAME 3 - SOUTH POINTE STALLIONS VS PALISADES PUMAS
This was another highly anticipated matchup. Two teams that that have dawgs playing for them, and like Northwestern seek to establish dominance over opponents. However, the game looked more like each team were working out their kinks, which is not a bad thing in my opinion. It’s good to identify now, and address mistakes before pursuing a successful season. The Stallions did punch in one touchdown, unfortunately the extra point was blocked. They ended up winning 6-0.

Overall all participating teams played beautifully. It was nice to witness some good ole football. Championship caliber organizations going at each other. The Rock Hill teams all won their games. All these teams are well coached. BEST WISHES TO YOU ALL!!!

SPECIAL THANKS to the athletic departments of the South Pointe Stallions and the Northwestern Trojans, who throughout their busy week kept in contact with MFV All Sports. I definitely want to return for future athletic competitions in North and South Carolina.
